Made in LA 2

1.  Who does Forever 21 blame for the sweatshops?  Why?

they blame the contractors and the manufacturers for the low pay of the workers

2.  What’s wrong with Forever 21′s argument?

they are trying to blame their workers but the problem is that they are the ones who give the money
they are the ones in charge, and they are the ones who give the money that pays the workers.
they give little money to pay the workers

3.  Why do the workers continue to protest even if it means they might lose their jobs?

they do it because they really want more money, so they are trying to get forever 21 to give more money to the contractors so the contractors can give more money to the manufacturers, and the manufacturers can give more money to the sweatshop workers

Made in LA

1. How is the life of sweatshop workers in L.A. the same as those in Indonesia?  How is it different?

they both get less then the minimum wage, they both have families, and they both work about 12-hours a day. the difference is that the workers in indonesia are payed less, have a worse condition, and they have oversized rodents

2. Why is it that poor immigrants (newcomers) end up working at sweatshops?  Why don’t they work as lawyers or doctors or at Mcdonalds?

the poor immigrants need work that doesn't require papers, and the first place they find is sweatshops. they make so little money, they can't get out, the little money they make goes to food and shelter. they have no way out. they can't work anywhere else cause they don't have papers and they can't work without papers

3. Predict what’s going to happen by the end of this movie

i think in the end the immigrants will team up and find a way to go to the president of forever 21 and tell him there conditions.

Behind The Swoosh 2

1.  How much do Nike workers make in Indonesia?  How many hours a day do they work?

they work for 1.25 a day after you've payed for your rent, electricity, water and any major transportation costs.

2.  What is life like for Indonesian Nike workers at home?

4 women share a coop, 1 toilet for 8 families and it all goes out in the street for others to see and smell. football size rats, and fist size roaches.

3.  Why won’t Nike talk to Jim or Leslie or let them visit the shoe factory?

because they are afraid that jim or leslie might ruin their business.
